Bell Buckle fails to get sewer upgrade grant (Local News ~ 10/22/05)
The small community of Bell Buckle will have to find a way to come up with a half a million dollars or more to pay for a state mandated sewer system upgrade after the town was denied a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). A story in Thursday's T-G about a serious accident Wednesday on Railroad Road referred to "initial uncertainty" by dispatchers as to whether its location was inside or outside Shelbyville. Motorcycle rider killed near Wartrace (Local News ~ 10/22/05)
A Shelbyville man was killed Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding went out of control on a long, sweeping curve near Wartrace. Jeremy Pope, 24, of Cloverdale Road was identified as the victim by State Trooper Patrick Turner. Pope was riding toward Wartrace on Wartrace-Bell Buckle Road about 2:15-2:20 p.m. when the accident occurred near Tenpenny Hill just past Horse Mountain Road intersection north of the town.... -
