NASHVILLE -- Three state officials have said Bedford County Sheriff Clay Parker will get a ruling "soon" in his appeal for an order to stop state and county officials from keeping his name from the May 2 Democratic primary ballot. Funeral services for Charlie Edward "Ed" Adcock, 90, of Shelbyville, who died Monday morning at Glen Oaks Convalescent Center after a short illness, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Dick Poplin and Geoff Gieseman officiating. Burial will follow at Old Millersburg Cemetery in Rutherford County.

The first results are in and so far, 2,425 have responded to Shelbyville's special census, a total of 13 percent of the city's goal.
