Bedford County Circuit Court Judge Robert Crigler on Friday ruled against a Fayetteville lawyer's request in an attempted murder case stemming from shots exchanged between a Bedford County sheriff's deputy and a Flat Creek man. Ray Fraley, defense attorney for Anthony Leverette, 40, claimed that a deputy technically put Leverette under arrest before he knew whether a crime had been committed, so the information subsequently gathered in the case should be suppressed and that would have resulted in dismissal of the charge. ... -
