Martha Bright Green, 89, of Shelbyville died Tuesday. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at 40th Avenue Church of Christ in Nashville with Charles Beamon officiating. Burial will follow Monday at Holden Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin 2 p.m. today at the church. H. Preston Scales & Sons Funeral Home of Murfreesboro is in charge of arrangements.

A Bedford County Circuit Court jury did not reach a verdict Friday in the case of a Shelbyville man charged with allegedly selling crack cocaine to an informant of the 17th Judicial District's Drug Task Force. Sylvia Gowen Gilbert of Signal Mountain was bitten by the genealogy bug two years ago and for half of that time, she has been searching for an elusive family cemetery. Lisa Burgdorf Digman of Nashville, 52, died Friday at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill with the Rev. Curt Wagoner and Ed Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Cothran Cemetery in Bedford County. Visitation with the family will be held Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
