At a time when hay is at a premium due to drought conditions, a fire destroyed a large number of hay bales Sunday at a Bedford County farm. Gene Autry Locke, 60, of Shelbyville died Saturday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gallant Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. James Warren officiating. Burial will follow in New Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday.
