Wilson "Bill" Stewart, 87, of Shelbyville died Wednesday at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Woodfork Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Nathan Frey officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Ararat Cemetery. J.A. Welton & Son Funeral Home of Tullahoma is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Raney Haynes, 70, of Cedar Grove died Thursday at her home after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with Larry Sanders and Mark Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Swanson Cemetery, Chapel Hill. Visitation with the family will begin 4 p.m. Friday.

Metro dress code gets clean bill of health (Local News ~ 06/15/07)
Metro Nashville Public Schools received an opinion this week from the Metro legal department affirming the legality of standardized school attire (SSA) as it is being implemented there. Bedford County Board of Education has discussed the idea of implementing such a program here, and school board members traveled to the Chattanooga area last month to visit two schools where SSA is in place. They will no doubt pay attention to how the program is implemented in Metro as it begins this fall...
