Houston Doris "Hout" James, 83, of Chapel Hill, formerly of Lewisburg, died Sunday. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with the Rev. Tim McGehee officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery in Chapel Hill. Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m. today.

Curt Cobb that was signed into law last week will create new requirements for individuals engaged or seeking to operate in the mortgage industry in Tennessee, including background checks.
