Slaying suspect in custody

A Shelbyville man has been charged in connection with the slaying of a Murfreesboro woman whose body was discovered two weeks ago near Wartrace. Donald Ray "Donnie" Sachs, 40, of Scudder Drive, is charged with criminal homicide in the death of Joyce Mattis, 52, whose remains were found June 4 in a wooded area off Cannon Road, Sheriff Randall Boyce said. When the lineup for this year's Bonnaroo festival in Manchester was published earlier in the year, I was -- like other classic rock fans -- disappointed that the rumored Led Zeppelin performance would not take place. Having that band drop into our neck of the woods was an admitted longshot, but the festival still had an impressive array of talent: Metallica, Pearl Jam, Chris Rock, B.B. King, Widespread Panic ... there was something for every musical taste this year...
