Isaiah Bryan Ivins, infant son of Jacob Ivins and Debra Haynes of Tullahoma, died suddenly Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A private graveside service was held Sunday at Willow Mount Cemetery with Jimmy Gray officiating. Doak-Howell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Parent requests school peanut ban

A parent asked Bedford County Board of Education Thursday night to remove anything containing peanuts and tree nuts from school menus, including food for student field trips. "My son has severe food allergies," said the parent, who requested her name not be used to protect her child's identity. As of Thursday, the organization will have to be out of the building at 405 Depot St. that it has used for the past year to assist those in dire straits. Bedford County Board of Commissioners passed budget and property tax rates Monday night, holding the county property tax rate at its current figure of $2.27 per $100 assessed value. Irene Beasley Lorance, 87, of Murfreesboro, died there Monday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with Elder Frank Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
