Convicted crack dealer wins appeal, loses others

A state criminal appeals court has reversed one drug conviction of a Shelbyville man and remanded the case for a new trial. The man lost his appeal on four other simultaneous convictions for the same charge. In February 2007, Jovan Xavier Moore was convicted of five counts of selling .5 grams or more of cocaine and was sentenced to 24 years imprisonment by Judge Robert Crigler in April of that year...

Ambulance fee cuts hit county hard

The state Legislature's Government Operations Committee has asked the state to restore cuts in ambulance fees paid to local governments; those cuts could cost Bedford County as much as $45,000 per year. Bedford County Emergency Medical Services Director Chad Graham attended the meeting Wednesday.
