Sarah Frost Prather, 80, of Cullman, Ala., a native of Flat Creek, died Sept. 2 in Cullman. Funeral services were held Sept. 5 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Terry Tingle officiating, followed by burial at Cullman Memory Gardens.

How 'bout them Rebels? I've got to hand it to Houston Nutt and his Ole Miss squad for beating Florida Saturday. The blocked extra point was a textbook block, and couldn't have come at a better time or in a better game. I'm just glad somebody beat Florida. My two favorite teams are the Vols and whoever's playing Florida. Houston Nutt is a great coach and I think he makes a great fit in Oxford...

A spotted saddle horse that suffered third degree burns on 60 percent of her body is being treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Costs to repair an adjoining building damaged during the recent demolition on East Depot Street could exceed $200,000, Shelbyville city council members were told Tuesday, which may lead them to order its destruction as well next week.
