Mildred Farlow Vincion, 94, of Eagleville, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with the Rev. Tommy Jobe and the Rev. Vance King officiating. Burial will follow at Swanson Cemetery, Chapel Hill. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday.

William H. 'Jack' Redden, 79, of Bell Buckle, died Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Bob Young officiating. Burial will follow at Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Lower speed limit urged for 231 North

Bedford County Board of Commissioners' rules and legislative committee voted Tuesday night to recommend lowering the speed limit on U.S. 231 from 65 miles per hour to 55 miles per hour between Shelbyville and Deason. Magnet school enrollment criteria approved

Bedford County Board of Education approved the enrollment criteria Tuesday night for a K-5 magnet school that will open next fall.
