Eva May Bowen, 85, of Bell Buckle, died Saturday at NHC Healthcare in Murfreesboro. Funeral services were held Monday at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Chris Harris and Mark Hall officiating. Burial followed at Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Cannon County.

The Community Vikings got a career day Saturday from senior Chris West, who had three hits, including a home run, to defeat visiting Zion Christian 11-1. After a scoreless first inning by both teams, West got the Viking offense on the board in the second with a drive over the left field fence. Lloyd Lee Copeland II, 28, of Lewisburg, died Saturday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Joint funeral services for him and his fiancee, Jillian Garrett, who also died as a result of the accident, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill. Burial will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill. Joint visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
