  • Gladys Hamilton McCarty (Obituary ~ 07/06/09)
    Gladys Hamilton McCarty, 93, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church in Murfreesboro, where she was a member and elder, with the Rev. Steven Odom officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro.
  • Bobby Cecil Allison Sr. (Obituary ~ 07/06/09)
    Bobby Cecil Allison Sr., 67, of Shelbyville, died Saturday at his residence after a short illness. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Willow Mount Cemetery with Jim Tedder officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Doak-Howell Funeral Home.

    On a night where there were just as many fireworks on the track as there were during intermission Jay Brinkley found his 40-lap drive to his liking. Brinkley took his Super Late Model to an impressive win and the $2000 top prize.
