Jail rape offenders sentenced to 20 years

Two of the women who pleaded guilty to a rape in Bedford County Jail will be spending the next 20 years in prison after sentences were handed down on Monday. Brooke L. Whitaker was sentenced to 12 years by Circuit Court Judge Robert Crigler, the maximum punishment available. This sentence will be served consecutively with the eight and a half years that Whitaker must also serve for other offenses, making it more than 20 years of incarceration...

James Ferrell, Sr., 60, of Shelbyville died Tuesday at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Farrar Hill Church with the Rev. William Rhoton officiating. Burial will follow at Farrar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.
