Henry Feldhaus III has announced his candidacy for Bedford County Mayor in the May 4 Democratic primary. Feldhaus, a former two-term Shelbyville mayor and a member of Shelbyville City Council for six years, is an entrepreneur who has established several businesses in Bedford County and currently assists his wife, Jenni, at Investor Services, a family-owned investment/brokerage company. Webb's boys took control in the second half to defeat Lancaster Christian 71-66 at the Barton Athletic Center in Bell Buckle on Tuesday night. After the visitors took leads of 22-19 and 37-34 into the conclusion of the first two quarters, the Feet squeaked in front 51-49 in the third. A smothering defensive effort helped Cascade's girls creep by rival Community 43-39 in overtime Tuesday night in front of a capacity crowd in Wartrace. The Lady Champions (15-6, 7-4 District 9-A) held their neighbors to just one field goal over the game's final 8:55, including a clutch effort in overtime that kept the Viqueens (13-9, 5-6) off the scoreboard the first three minutes, thanks in part to their full-court press, which resulted in its share of forced turnovers... -

Anybody want a cat? You could have had one of mine if you'd been within throwing distance of the house Saturday morning. I'd spent hours working on a special cake for my son to take to his school's Winter Festival that night for the cakewalk. It's a snowman cake I've made before and everyone loves, and is just a lot of fun to do. (I'll include the instructions at the end of the column.)...

Wartrace considers cost of storm siren

Has anyone seen a tornado siren lying around Wartrace anywhere? There used to be one on top of the well house, said Mayor Don Gallagher, but after it was taken down, it seems to have disappeared. The matter came up at the January meeting of the Wartrace Board of Mayor and Aldermen Monday night, when Alderman Ed Simpson made a motion to get a new warning siren...
