Community Middle's softball team struggled with Moore County Middle on Tuesday night. Carolyn Pena and Katie Warrick both smacked a pair of hits but it wasn't enough as the Viqueens fell 8-4 in the first game of a doubleheader. Herbert Holton, 60, of Shelbyville died Thursday in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with the Rev. David Wall and the Rev. Willis Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery in Rover. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
