Mary Elizabeth Watkins Cobb, 71, of Shelbyville died Thursday at Christian Care of Bedford County. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel with Jay Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Bank Cemetery in Flat Creek. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Celebration plea for waste pickup denied by council

Shelbyville's city council said Tuesday they would be opening a can of worms if they began providing Dumpster service at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
