UPDATE: Suspects charged in I-beam thefts

Two men have been charged in connection with taking steel I-beams from an Eady Road farm last weekend. It is the same incident in which county commissioner Bobby Vannatta was initially charged with theft of the beams. Stan Ledbetter, 51, of Shelbyville died Thursday at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel with Ron Skeeters and Ray Wiser officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

The final coat of paint, in this case, the word "STOP," was placed at the intersection of Highway 64 West and the news Shelbyville bypass - State Highway 437 on Thursday. Not many motorists were observed on the new road, but they were keeping within the speed limit. That was apparently not the case following opening ceremonies on Wednesday, as police scanner traffic revealed that authorities were pulling over more than a few drivers and giving them warnings about traveling too fast.
