Farrar drops suit vs. city over arrest

A Shelbyville man has said he will be dropping his lawsuit against the city over an alleged wrongful arrest. James Edward "Blue" Farrar Jr. filed a motion in federal court Monday asking that his suit be dismissed without prejudice. Marilyn F. Phillips, 68, of Shelbyville died Monday at her home after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fair Haven Baptist Church with Charles Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday and one hour before service time at the church. Doak-Howell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
