A recent legal opinion from Tennessee Attorney General Bob Cooper says that local government officials can have lunch together, as long as they don't decide public business. The Tennessee Open Meetings Act, often called the "Sunshine Law," says that public business must be debated and discussed in public. That's not too much for the public to expect, but officials often bristle at the law's restrictions and use outlandish worst-case scenarios to argue against it...
