A Shelbyville man has been charged with sexually assaulting a co-worker, also from Shelbyville, on the roof of the Columbia Walmart last year. Timothy Lee Farliss, 30, surrendered to Columbia authorities Tuesday, The Daily Herald reported. The incident occurred Nov. 25 as the man and woman, 24, were cleaning a roof hood vent. Possession of one Xanax pill led to a drug charge against a Shelbyville woman Wednesday night. Ashley Lynn Edmondson, 30, of Highway 64 West was charged with possession of a schedule IV drug during a traffic stop of a car in which she was riding. Edmondson, the owner of the car, allowed a search requested by officer Cody Swift after driver Jeffrey Brent Cunningham, 46, of Chestnut Drive was stopped on Evans Street because a headlight was out. ...

Emergency workers prepare to replace a utility pole struck by the overturned truck at left this morning on Madison Street. The driver, Garrett Winnette, 75, of Wartrace told medical personnel he felt no pain except from the seat belt. He was taken to Heritage Medical Center to be checked.
