(Column ~ 06/23/13)
Well, it's been 10 years. I got the invitation in the mail last week. I didn't even want to open it, not really. I feel old just thinking about it. On the plus side, the reality of the situation really forces one to look at the last 10 years of their life and evaluate how they've spent their time. ...

It goes like this: A man by the name of Bryan Anderson was driving home late one night along a lonely stretch of highway when he noticed a woman standing by a car at the side of the road. Why do you think farmers and nurseries use greenhouses to grow plants throughout the year? They use greenhouses because they keep the plants warm, even in winter. Doesn't it stand to reason that if a greenhouse keeps a plant warm even in winter, that a car will do the same to a child or pet? And in the summer, that could be quickly fatal...

Who do we belong to? The IRS? God? The federal government? Ourselves? I'm still pondering that one. Because it may not matter who we think we belong to. Example: George Zimmer, founder and commercial guy for Gentleman's Wearhouse. You know, the "You're going to like the way you look.." voice...
