Cancer walk-a-thon planned for Sept. 13

Multi-County Cancer Support Network will hold its annual Walk-A-Thon Friday, Sept. 13, at the football stadium at 839 Dinah Shore Blvd. beside the Franklin county annex building in Winchester. Motlow application deadline Aug. 16

Students planning to attend Motlow College this fall must submit applications for admission or readmission by Aug. 16. Students can apply online until midnight on the 16th. Online applications can be accessed from the "Apply Now" tab on the Motlow College website's homepage at mscc.edu. Also, staff members are available at all Motlow locations to help students with the application process. Students applying on the Moore County campus should do so in the Student Success Center in Crouch Center...

William F. Boyce, 83, of Eagleville died Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill with the Rev. Jack Gilbert, the Rev. Rebecca Salsbury and the Rev. Judy Sides officiating. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery in Rover. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
