Dorothy Ann Fisher Sadler, 77, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Sadler officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Marijuana smoke pours from suspects' vehicle

"Thick smoke" from marijuana greeted a Shelbyville police officer checking a report of a suspicious vehicle on Regent Drive early Tuesday afternoon. Three 18-year-old men in the vehicle -- Tyias Sayvon Allison and Romellus Othello Sneed, of separate Cedar River Road addresses, and Jakori Franklin Jones of Warners Bridge Road -- were charged with simple possession of a schedule VI drug after pot was found, police said...

Michael Jacob "Jake" Leverette, son of Shannon and Rhonda Leverette, Unionville, graduated Jan. 4 from Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., as a Navy boatswain's mate. He is now stationed at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, Calif. His 10-month deployment began Jan. 21 on the USS Higgins DDG-76, missile destroyer. William Jackie Neal, 55, of Smyrna died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Deer Point Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Leathers officiating. Burial will follow at Dyer Cemetery in Rockvale. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
