(Column ~ 10/13/13)
A few summers ago I had a painting business. At some point I ended up doing some work for a home stager in Murfreesboro. There are eight of us abiding here in the "Dezotell Home for Dysfunctional Living." Eight humans and one dog; at least there is only one dog at this point. Someone once said that there's nothing that makes you more insane than family. Or more happy. Or more exasperated. Or...more secure...

Orange bell peppers star in this tricky treat (Column ~ 10/13/13)
I love Halloween. All the children in their costumes coming to the door -- about 200 in my neighborhood! As a child it was a special day to go pick out your costume or to make it at home. We even went trick or treating in two feet of snow in Colorado one year with my silky store bought Snow White costume leaving a trail of red dye on the snow... -

"The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." A Memorial for a Vol Fan (Submitted Photo ~ 10/13/13)
A picture was sent to me by a friend showing a grave that was painted this way. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to do this for my Papa. Papa Wright passed away in '84 from bone cancer, but was an avid Vol Fan until the end. My Papa went by the nickname "Buck" all of his life. I named my son after him. My dad actually did this painting on Saturday, much to my surprise! We went to see it today and Buck wanted his picture with it. I think this is an awesome display for a sports fan! Go Vols!...
