Harris robot, team grab regional awards

Harris Middle School's Eaglebots team's robot grasped two awards in a regional robot competition on Saturday. The 2013 Music City BEST Robotics Competition was held at Lipscomb University in Nashville. The robot, which was designed as an arm, won the Rube Goldberg Award for Meritorious Achievement in Design Complexity. Bystanders look with amazement at the path which the smashed Mustang took after the driver lost control on Thompson Creek Road late Monday morning. Holly Thomas, 19, was identified as the driver by State Trooper Dallas Rife. She was airlifted from the scene to a Nashville hospital. New Soil Conservation office on the way

Bedford County Soil Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service will soon have a new office location. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 11.
