Janice Marie Clardy, 63, of Unionville died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gowen-Smith Chapel with Jonathon Osterhaus and Roy Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Pressgrove Cemetery in Unionville. Visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Suspect threatens to hit, burn wife

A man accused of threatening to strike, burn and kill his wife is in custody today. Joaquin Jack Hinojosa told her he was going to strike her in the head with a baseball bat and set her on fire, Shelbyville police said. Officers arrived at their Nutmeg Drive home shortly after 3 a.m. to find Hinojosa's wife yelling for someone to get her out because he was going to kill her and was armed with a knife, officer Jose Garza's report said...
