Help build trails Saturday at Henry Horton State Park

Henry Horton State Park will host a Volunteer Trail Building event on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Join the park to build a 1.5-mile expansion to the Hickory Ridge Trail inside the park. The addition of the Hickory Ridge Trail expansion will bring the total miles of trail inside Henry Horton to 11 miles. Nine miles of the trail will be accessible from a single trailhead at the Wilhoite Mill Trail on Highway 31A, on the north side of the Duck River...

TWH museum recognized (Local News ~ 03/28/14)
The Tennessee Walking Horse National Museum located in Wartrace, the town known as the "Cradle of The Tennessee Walking Horse," received the 2014 Award of Commendation in recognition of superlative achievement in the "Temporary Exhibition" category at the Tennessee Association of Museums Annual Conference in Greeneville, on March 19. The exhibit focused on "A Moment in the Rich Tradition of the Celebration" on Aug. 29, 2013. More than half of the respondents in a non-scientific poll on the Times-Gazette website say they plan to vote in the Republican primary for county offices in May, while only a third plan to vote in the Democratic primary. A primary election is held by a political party in order to choose its nominee. That nominee then competes against the other party's nominee -- as well as any independent candidates -- in the general election. That's the way it works in theory... -
Energy cuts eyed in schools

David Adams officiating. A reception honoring her life will follow at the home of Denny and Thesa Hastings in Shelbyville. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
