Tool box, contents stolen from garage (Local News ~ 04/10/14)
A large tool box containing more than $1,000 worth of tools was stolen from the service area of Shelbyville Automotive Group, North Main Street, overnight Monday. Police said another box had been moved but the stolen box was probably so heavy an individual couldn't move any others... -

Bell Buckle arts demos set May 17

Two were hurt when this truck overturned Wednesday afternoon on Fairfield Pike about two miles east of Cascade Schools. PAST Act bill moves through committee

The PAST Act passed through a U.S. Senate committee on Wednesday. The Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation approved the bill with no discussion. The PAST Act, or Prevent All Soring Tactics Act of 2013, was "marked up" and moved out of the committee as a package with other bills. No additional votes have been scheduled yet...

Shelbyville's council spent time last week examining revenue sources used to conduct city government's functions. State shared revenue is discussed each year during budget time, city manager Jay Johnson said. Tennessee "shares," or allocates, designated revenue back to the cities -- either on a specific formula or population basis. For fiscal year 2014, the state revenue is $112 per person -- an amount set annually by the legislature...
