Library gets $1 million from county

The county commission approved the 2014-2015 budget Monday evening, which includes $1 million set aside for building a new library and no tax increase. Total tax rate for Bedford County remains at $2.27 for each $100 of taxable property countywide. County mayor Eugene Ray explained that the $1 million for the Argie Cooper Library building donation was taken out of reserves and moved to appropriations, so that the county can donate the money as needed...
