$100,000 memorial to new library building (Local News ~ 08/28/14)
A check for $107,162 was presented to the Shelbyville-Bedford County Library Trustees from the Edward C. and Normanda Huffman estate. Both were avid supporters of the library, especially "Miss Normanda," who loved poetry, inspirational books, and books about elegant table settings, decorative china, etc. These funds will be used for the progress of the new building. Jack Daniel's leads higher results at Brown-Forman

A Shelbyville resident was falsely told she had been charged with a traffic offense in Sumner County and would be fined almost $1,000. The resident was informed by a caller using the name of a Bedford County deputy to pay the "fines" using a Green Dot card, according to a Shelbyville Police Department report.
