A fake Publisher's Clearing House $1.5 million "prize notification" received by a Bedford County resident has a newly-noticed twist. "Your security code and prize information must be kept strictly confidential which means that you are precluded from discussing your win with 3rd parties such as (family members, friends and relatives). This is to prevent unlawful tampering and a means to reduce risks of fraud and scams from taking place."...

Prayer, praise and homecoming (Features ~ 09/12/14)
Hurricane Grove Baptist Church will hold a prayer and praise rally for the nation 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20. Following the prayer time, the Magnolia Gospel Quartet from Mississippi, seen here, will sing. University of Tennessee extension agent Whitney Danhof hosted a Seasonal Eating demonstration Wednesday at the Shelbyville/Bedford County Senior Citizens Center. Her topic was on dry beans. Half of all dry beans are grown in North Dakota and Michigan, she said, and they are nutrient dense. Dry beans are low in fat. A half cup has 115 calories and 8 grams of protein. Motorists using U.S. 41A South should exercise caution as work continues to widen the highway. Workers have been stopping traffic to allow heavy equipment to do grading work on both sides of the highway.
