Fast trip to jail for Ohio drug suspect

Speeding led to the arrest of an Ohio man on drug charges Monday, investigators said. Joshua Thomas Harris, 30, of Fairfield, Ohio was clocked at 76 mph in a 50 mph zone on U.S. 231 North by Deputy Garcia Jordan. A Coleman fuel container and brake fluid containers -- described as "precursors for meth" by Jordan -- were found and Shelbyville Police Department's drug dog Julie with Officer Jody Shelton were called to the scene...

Preparing for luncheon, bazaar (Local News ~ 11/20/14)
Volunteers gathered in the kitchen fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church on the square Wednesday night to slice turkey for the church's annual holiday luncheon and bazaar, which will be held 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday. Only a few tickets for the luncheon were available as of Wednesday night; call the church office, 684-2535, to ask about availability. Even without a luncheon ticket, however, there will be several rooms with bazaar merchandise for shoppers. CORRECTED County awaits fire insurance maps

It's been more than a year, and the county still hasn't received the maps it's requested from the Insurance Services Office showing exactly which properties fall under new fire protection ratings. In 2013, the county learned that it had gotten a more favorable rating for fire protection from ISO, which is not a government agency but rather a private organization funded by the insurance industry...
