Council sets hearings for dogs, alarms

Public hearings are set for Jan. 8 for ordinances dealing with dogs and Shelbyville's policy on alarms. The ordinances were passed on first reading by the Shelbyville city council Thursday night. A draft submitted to the council in November limited any one property to three outdoor dogs. The current draft does not contain a limit on pets, however, it allows dogs on chains outdoors only from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Under the proposed draft, the dogs will have to be housed in some fashion at night...
