Thieves walk away with case of earrings

More than $1,500 worth of jewelry was stolen from Walmart early Monday, police say. Camera footage shows two men and a woman breaking into a jewelry case and taking an entire case containing 27 earrings, security personnel told officers. Several traffic accidents occurred in the Wartrace-Bell Buckle area early this morning as freezing fog iced roads. Bedford County schools opened two hours late as a result. Most of the wrecks occurred on Wartrace-Bell Buckle road, involving vehicles sliding into ditches or bridges.
