Wallet stolen after victim pumps gas

A wallet was taken from the front seat of a van at the Kroger gas pumps Thursday afternoon, Shelbyville police were told. The victim said he overpaid and walked to the cashier for change about 4:20 p.m. The wallet was gone when he returned. Court rules in favor of walking horse industry

The city of Shelbyville's cost to dispose of trash will rise slightly. The Interlocal Solid Waste Authority (ISWA) made a new solid waste disposal landfill agreement last week, awarding the bid to BFI for $22 per ton. According to Shelbyville public works director Mark Clanton, Waste Management pulled its bid at the last minute due to errors in their figures, so the ISWA's only other option was to accept the BFI bid. ...

One man was killed and two people -- including an infant -- were injured in a head-on collision Friday morning on Lewisburg Highway, police say. Jon Frasier, 25, of Shelbyville was killed, according to a preliminary report by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Paul Sanders.
