Wildlife at Webb (Local News ~ 05/15/15)
The Webb School is beautifying its campus while also supporting the arts. The school Tuesday dedicated its first commissioned art piece, by Sparta artist Nan Jacobsohn. Jacobsohn used a theme of "Tennessee wildlife" for the bas relief piece. She said she conducted extensive research to learn what plant and animal species were native to Tennessee so she would not use "invasive species" in her design... -
City doesn't pursue pet ordinance

A revised ordinance dealing with dogs and cats in Shelbyville died for the lack of support from the city council Thursday night. No member seconded the proposal on first reading, which would have allowed an initial vote. The revised measure would have banned direct point chaining -- or tethering of dogs to a stationary object -- over the next two years...
