41 students, five local, named Advanced Placement Scholars at Webb

Five Bedford County students were among 41 students at The Webb School who recently were named Advanced Placement Scholars, making for a school record. Additionally, there were five Webb students who achieved national ranking and one who received an AP International Diploma. Eighty-nine Webb students took a total of 204 AP exams in the spring. Missing 'Mrs. Dixie': School board member honored (Local News ~ 07/22/15)
The Bedford County Board of Education took time to remember one of its own during its monthly meeting Tuesday. Board members paid tribute to the late Dixie Parker from District 1, who died July 10 of natural causes. "I lost one of my best friends," board chair Amy Martin said. Wheel tax could go on ballot

Bedford County Board of Commissioners' rules and legislative committee voted Tuesday night to formally ask the county's Financial Management Committee to draw up a wheel tax proposal to be placed on a county-wide ballot in the March election.
