Lions hear program on housing authority (Features ~ 08/12/15)
Hershel Thrasher, executive director of the Shelbyville Housing Authority, spoke to the Shelbyville Lions Club last week. Thrasher discussed changes at the housing authority and the housing units it manages. He said Shelbyville Police Department has been instrumental in helping to eliminate drug dealers from the housing developments. Scholarship honors Shonta' (Local News ~ 08/12/15)
Norma Branch, left, mother of Shonta' Whorley Lamb, presents the first Shonta' Whorley Lamb Softball Scholarship to Motlow freshman Jamaica Johnson. Lamb died Sept. 3, 2014 of colon cancer. An injured hiker was airlifted from a remote area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park by the Tennessee Highway Patrol last weekend. Joey Watson, 20, a college student from Eldorado, Illinois, slipped while hiking trails. Medics from the National Park Service reached Watson but determined he was injured too seriously to hike out on his own.
