The leader of the losing team in East Side Elementary's Smart Card fundraiser agreed to kiss a pig. That's why principal Xavier Hamler met a 2-week-old pig face-to-face Thursday. Assistant principal Mindy Dewitt, the winning team's leader, enjoys petting the pig, held by Bedford County 4-H leader Jeff Hester. East Side students yelled "yes!" when asked if they wanted to see Hamler kiss the pig -- not once, but twice. All funds raised benefit the school's PTO, Hamler said. (T-G Photos by David Melson) -
