Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has named the Shelbyville Driver Services Center on Railroad Avenue as its center of the month. The Dutch Safety Board took their time, but they finally reported that it was a Russian-developed Buk missile that blew a Malaysian airliner out of the sky last year. Of course, they can't, or won't say who actually fired the missile, but suggested the jet carrying nearly 300 souls should not have been in the area due to the armed conflict in Ukraine...

Store clerks charged with underage alcohol sales

Joanus Fordham of the Bedford County schools maintenance department lays sod outside the Central Office on Tuesday. The sod work was part of a project that included rebuilding the sidewalk to the main entrance, making it level with the door and eliminating the need to step up to enter. According to the maintenance department, they performed the project using their own staff for a cost of less than $2,000, versus spending between $3,500 to $4,000 by hiring an outside company. Webb will own on-campus utilities

An agreement has been made between Bell Buckle and Webb School over ownership of water and sewer lines. Mayor Dennis Webb told Bell Buckle aldermen that the school wants to own the water and sewer lines around its new construction area. The school wants to be able to relocate lines at its expense. The city is working with its engineer and legal team to draw up an agreement that would give Bell Buckle full access to school property to do any needed work...
