Church circle meets (Features ~ 06/14/16)

Carolyn L. Reese, 72, of Shelbyville died Monday, June 13, 2016. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday at Bird Street Church of Christ with Anthony Booker as eulogist. Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.

Barbara Helms will be forever grateful to two Shelbyville police officers who saved her from the grip of an angry pit bill protecting its seven puppies on May 28. "If I hadn't grabbed the dog's collar I'd be dead," said Helms, 72, who was on her back being bitten in the arms and hands when officers Bobby Peacock and Bruce Davis distracted and shot the pit bull at a Fairfield Pike home.
