GOP holds ribbon-cutting (Local News ~ 09/28/16)
Bedford County Republican Party held a ribbon-cutting Tuesday for its headquarters on the east side of the public square. Standing with campaign signs are, from left, party vice-chair Sandy Still; State Sen. Jim Tracy and State Rep. Pat Marsh, both of whom are running for re-election; and Tyler Privette, stepson of U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais, who is seeking re-election. Local party chair Bob York is partially hidden at the far right. The headquarters is scheduled to be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., although exact hours may depend on volunteer availability. Purely anecdotally, based on my own observation, most of the political posts I've been seeing have been negative in nature -- most aren't "Here is why my candidate is qualified, and here is my candidate's vision for the future." Instead, the vast majority have been negative in nature -- here's why the opposing candidate is evil, untrustworthy, unqualified, etc. ...
