Danny Earl Hale, 58, of Shelbyville died suddenly Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare-Shelbyville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Haven Baptist Church with Daryl Craft and Tim Key officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m Monday and beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Doak-Howell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Inmates smash jail window to smuggle cigarettes inside

Two Bedford County Jail inmates have been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony after allegedly smashing a cell's window. Thomas Coleman and Derrick Brigman, who shared a cell with two other men who were not involved, allegedly broke an outside window and pried a metal screen to smuggle cigarettes into the jail, said a report fied by deputy Ramon Castillo...

After several weeks of atypically warm weather, Saturday felt like fall -- and visitors turned out in Bell Buckle in force, some attending a Russ Taff fan weekend and others just taking advantage of a temperate fall day to do some browsing. Crash victim thrown from car; charge may be filed (Local News ~ 10/08/16)
A Nashville woman was killed when she was thrown out of the car in which she was riding Thursday afternoon on U.S 41A just south of Shelbyville. Amanda Ashley died as she was being transported to Tennova Healthcare-Shelbyville, State Trooper Chad McAnally said.
