I'm not sure what exactly brought about my need to be comforted; this insane presidential election cycle, my daughter's rapidly encroaching 16th birthday, or easily, the fact that said daughter recently had her appendix removed. By the time this column publishes I will have officially fulfilled all of the major etched in red items that have been on my calendar for months. I am celebrating this because I made the mistake about six weeks ago of over-committing myself. The only relief I have had is knowing that the end of this extra busy period is simply a matter of time. One day at a time, hour by hour, minute by minute, and eventually each item will have a slash through it...
