Veterans service officer speaks (Local News ~ 11/25/16)
Mike Scott, a veterans service officer for this region, was the speaker at the November meeting of Vietnam Era Veterans. Scott's topics ranged from applying for a service-connected disability to free burial in approved cemeteries. Bank helps with Stones River trip (Business ~ 11/25/16)

Hay-hauling restrictions eased

With much of Tennessee and the Southeast coping with extreme drought, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam has issued an executive order to ease restrictions on trucks hauling hay. "Agriculture is critical to our state's economy, and rain is a critical ingredient that farmers need to keep their businesses running," Haslam said. "This order will allow haulers to move hay across and through Tennessee efficiently, so farmers can feed their livestock during these drought conditions."...

Division 3 state soccer champions

The 2002 Camp Forest Football Club U15 team recently won the 2016/17 Division 3 State Championship in Murfreesboro. The team scored 14 goals and only allowed one over three games. The team is made up of players from the local area.
