Butler's Creek FCE Club met Nov. 21 at the UT/TSU Extension office. Hostesses for the meeting were Brenda Gregory, Kay Harrell and Debbie Crosslin. The meeting was called to order by President Louise Moore with the reading of "Thanksgiving in the Barn." Drugs found in car during traffic stop

A man allegedly transporting pills for resale was charged after an initial charge of not wearing a seat belt Wednesday. James Brady Timberlake, 20, of Hickory Hill Road allegedly admitted trading marijuana for pills. Sixteen oxycodone pills. 24 morphine tablets and cut off straws containing residue were found in his car, deputy Ramon Castillo's report said...

Further drainage studies in plans for Fairground Heights

The Shelbyville City Council is spending $4,750 to study stormwater drainage along Fairground Heights.The council approved a motion Thursday to hire Griggs & Maloney engineers to study the issue first raised last week by Fred Horn, owner of Shelbyville Self Storage. Horn, who said he is a retired engineer, made a verbal agreement with the city last week to pay $12,000 toward fixing the drainage system under his business so he can sell the property...
