Woman killed in traffic accident

Family and friends are mourning the loss of a Shelbyville native killed in a two-vehicle accident in southern Rutherford County late Wednesday afternoon. Tammy Bassham Simeri, 52, of Murfreesboro was flown to Vanderblt Medical Center following the accident on U.S. 231 South at Midland-Fosterville Road, less than a half-mile north of the Bedford County line, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
