Southside Elementary School third grade students in Mary Tim Cook’s RTI enrichment class got to experience what life must have been like on the Tennessee Frontier. Cook reserved a Traveling Treasure Trunk from the Tennessee State Museum. The museum has several different themed trunks that they loan to educators. Disaster Animal Response Team (Local News ~ 03/01/17)
Bedford County has formed a Disaster Animal Response Team (DART). This is a partnership between Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Bedford County Animal Control, The University of Tennessee/Tennessee State University Extension, Shelbyville Animal Control, and Bedford County Emergency Management Agency that is chartered to respond to companion and large animal issues during various types of disasters. Persons from several agencies recently went through training conducted by the state and federal agriculture departments.
